Have you ever felt like your “voice” wasn’t being heard?
It may not be your opinion, it could be your talent gets overlooked, or it seems that every time you try to step out of your comfort zone it ends up biting you in a not so pretty place. It’s almost a guarantee that something like this has happened to you at some point in your life. It could even be that you changed your hair color and you thought that it was a great look on you, even brought out your eye color, but one person told you it faded you out and it wasn’t natural looking so you steered away from doing that again. On the flip side of that, maybe you are the one who overlooks people due to judgments/stereo-types, or even hurts someone’s confidence to satisfy your own expectations.
To both parties- I want to tell you a secret. Identify your own self worth. Understand that just because one set of ears doesn’t “hear” you doesn’t mean your idea/talent isn’t good enough. Instead think of it as the one that didn’t or couldn’t “hear” you isn’t the right one for your idea/talent. To the one who might be reading this that has possibly hurt the confidence of one or many, I want to say I’m sorry you’re hurting on the inside. Those actions don’t come out of no where, they come from self hurt (I’ve been there).
There is an answer that I think you both would love to hear! Try taking any issues to Christ for guidance. When you ask, He listens. Don’t give up when you don’t receive the answer you want or when you want it. Not giving you an answer right away, sometimes ends up being the answer 😉 Remember if you give up, you’re giving in.
Prayer:
It’s easy to get caught up in this world’s view on whats “normal”, and it’s even easier at times to want to conform instead of knowing who we are in You. Instead of hurting I want to choose love, love for myself, and love for others. In Jesus name. -Amen.
