In general, we have a me complex. If someone doesn’t like “me” then they offend me, and I do not like them! If another person doesn’t see an issue the same way I see an issue, I can’t be friends with them. He/she thinks her way is better, but I know my way works so I am just going to do it my way. All examples of the me complex. I would be so sad if Jesus would have been this way.

Could you imagine the savior of the world walking around taking selfies and only concerned with himself? Sorry blind guy, I know YOU want to see, but I’ve got to worry about how I can see what I look like in this mirror. Oh Laz, dude sorry you died and all, but I’ve got this awesome party I’ve got to get to; I will be praying someone comes along to raise you though! What’s that? We’ve got over 5,000 people to feed and only 5 loaves of bread? Oh dude, yeah my name is Jesus right, so you know you gotta respect that, hand me those five loaves, I got some sandwiches to make for myself! You guys figure out what you’re going to eat on ya own!

These are all silly, I know, but could you imagine what our fate would be if Jesus was more concerned about his self and self gain rather than healing and helping, not to mention dying on the cross for you and I?

Our “jobs” are to be like Christ. (I feel like enough is said in that but…) So, why is it so difficult for us to set our self desires to the side and help others? Why would we want to focus more on how to get ahead in life, rather than putting our focus on helping others take that same journey with us? I’ve spent a lot of time alone lately, and I can tell you it’s really not fun. It’s because that is not the way we were wired to be. (If we were meant to be alone, I’m pretty sure God would have not allowed for Adam and Eve to reproduce.)

Guys we’ve all got opinions on this and on that, but as the body of Christ we are to stand together in one thing…. love.

We thank you for making us all different, and allowing us to have opinions on things. We do however want to remember that we are to love each-other and even if that means that at times we have to think of others before ourselves we are willing to do that for you. In Jesus name. -Amen
