Work out with me!

What is the purpose we have in our minds when we choose to exercise? It boils down to becoming more healthy, whichever way you feel is appropriate for your body.

I came to a pretty neat realization on this recently that I felt like I could share. When we workout our spiritual “man” we tend to do the same thing, we gain wisdom and understanding. We also learn how to apply the two in our daily lives. Getting “stronger” in our faith makes for great opportunities to those around us as well. When I start working out I find myself being happier, and in turn it makes the people around me happier. When I take a break from working out, I find that my stress level gets higher and it shows on the people around me. So why shouldn’t we apply this in our spiritual growth as well? I’ve noticed a trend of when I am growing in knowledge that people surrounding me begin to grow, or even start coming to me for advice. When I feel either overwhelmed or just straight up don’t make time for my spiritual growth, it reflects on those around me.

I think its appropriate to tell you to find a way that works for your spiritual workout, the same way we all choose to work out in whichever way we feel is going to be best for our bodies. Maybe that means thinking outside of the “norm”. Whatever way it is, keep doing it. Don’t give up! I know it gets hard, and sometimes even painful. There will be times that we may not see a change right away (the same as a physical workout). When doubt comes your way, believe in yourself. You can do it!

Prayer:

Help us to find ways that allow us to “like” growing spiritually. We understand that growth takes time and effort, and we want to have the patience you need us to have while putting in the effort you need us to put in. In Jesus name. -Amen
