America,
Emotions are running rapid. There are people who are hurt, fearful, tense, and even shaken. On the opposite side there are people who are optimistic, have a sense of security, and are very confident. In between the two you have a different set of people. This set of people are the ones hurting with those who are hurting. They are wishing those that who are overjoyed could realize the pain of hurting America. They also want those that are hurting and afraid to know there is hope. A hope that surpasses all understanding. This hope actually has a name; Jesus. Some of you have heard the name, some of you know the power of the name.
If you’ve heard the name before, but can’t understand how He could possibly help your hurt, I urge you to try. Tell him your pain. Tell him you’re scared. Once you start talking to Him, you will begin to feel a peace. That peace will stay with you, and when you need it most, you will feel it again. I want you to know that your surroundings may not change, but with the peace that Jesus has for you, it makes you strong enough to get through it.
Those that know the power, I feel like you just need some encouragement to remind you that He knows your pain, and He wants to start a healing process with you. Ask Him for that peace you know He has for you.
There is also another thing I feel needs to be addressed. This is something that we as Christ followers need to remember. When one of us is hurting, we are all supposed to be hurting. This is a time for you to show people the love Christ has to offer. You don’t understand why people are hurting, you say? Starting a conversation with someone who feels differently about a situation than you do is a great way to start an understanding. In this conversation, try being a listening ear instead of a condemning mouth. Allow your Christ love to be the brightest thing about you.
America, Jesus love you.
Prayer:
You see more than we can see. You see past the “right now” we tend to focus on. I ask that you send peace our way. Give us a blanket of your comfort. Strengthen those of us who need strengthening. Forgive those of us who have used your name as a tool to “get and have our way”. Allow those that hear what you want said to have the opportunity they need to say it. In Jesus name. – Amen
