Ooze Love

As Christians, I feel like we often get lost in emotions. Most of us have pure intentions when it comes to trying to explain why we love Christ, and how much He loves us. I mean, I totally get why it’s so easy to get lost in that and come off as pushy. I’ve noticed a trend in having conversations with “non believers,” people simply want to feel respected. Can you understand why that is? Let me give you a hint, it’s for the same reason you want them to respect you.

As Christ followers we have a major daily mission. It’s to show Christ’s  love. Sometimes we tend to forget how it feels when someone is forcing their oppinion of something on you. The easiest way to learn about something is to see it. Most people think you can’t see faith. To an extent you truly cant. It’s when “non believer’s” look at how we react to our circumstances, that they are able to witness faith. The moments when your “every day citizen” would react negatively, compared to reacting with trust, faith, and guidance from our Father. Those are the one’s I’m speaking of. You know, when we as Christ followers have a peace that surpasses all understanding.

It’s not only the big things in life that our reactions matter on either. The small things are noticed. Things like, finding positive on a rainy day, explaining how “it’s just a phone charger, if they took it from me they must have needed it more”, showing unconditional love to a stranger (and even more so when the stranger is angry), not blowing your horn in traffic and allowing someone to go before you, this list could go on for days. When a “non believer” see’s your reaction to these or similar small things, they are able to begin the knowledge of what trusting, loving, and being loved by Christ is all about.

The wise old saying “let your light shine” still holds truth to this day. Allow the first thing people notice about you, to be love. I get told often that I remind others of someone and they feel like they have met me before. (I’m a southern girl in a Northern city…. they’ve never seen me) I always chalk it up to Christ. When we become relatable with others, Christ is able to shine through. You’ve got Christ in you…. let it SHINE! 😉

PRAYER:

Allow us to understand that our purpose for being {wherever we are} is that someone who has never felt the love you offer, is able to feel it through us. We want to ooze love. Give us words to speak, clear our thoughts to be your thoughts. Remind us that we too are sinners and no sin is greater. We as Christ followers understand we are to acknowledge our sins and strive for better, allow that to show to those around us. Give us peace to love in difficult places. In Jesus name. – Amen
