What if you were told when you simply say the name Jesus, Christ, or God you would be put in prison for life? What if the one thing you knew to be true could put you in persecution? What if you were surrounded daily by such a hate on you that another would enjoy taking your life over your beliefs? Would you still shout loudly? Would you still carry it proudly? Would you be willing to tell strangers of Christ love?
In the USA we have a right to freedom. Other countries, not so much. I met a gentlemen tonight who’s family just arrived from another Country. He was so excited for their new journey because they would now be able to speak openly about our Heavenly Father. He’s been over here working and trying to make a way for his family to be here for several years. Could you imagine leaving your family in another country to make a better life?
This guys story is so amazing. I only had a few minutes to chat, so I wasn’t able to get many details. Have you ever approached someone with so much passion about Christ, they were able to feel His love surrounding you? This guy did! As soon as he spoke I could feel compassion, love, hope, and freedom. Yes in a bondaged world, Christ gives us freedom.
Another interesting fact I learned in our conversation was that in his home country, his family was one of few Christians. This guys dad, he was put in prison. Prison for life, till death. Could you imagine yourself in that place. How difficult that entire situation has to be, yet this guy was so excited to share his faith. Then you have the majority of born American Christians who take our freedom lightly. We are affraid to tell someone of our faith. WHY?
After this guy tells me his short biography, I was able to tell him I was a Christian as well. More excitement came from him! He began talking to me as if we were family. Introducing his wife and son to me, saying how nice it was that we were able to meet. He is family, he’s my brother. A brother I may never see again, but this brother touched my heart! I want to strive for his excitement in Christ!
PRAYER:
We want to make an impact like our brother made on us tonight. Allow your love to shine through us. When we are in conversations, allow others to feel your presence. When we feel down and out, remind us of who we are. We are your son’s and daughter’s and your grace is sufficient. In Jesus name. -Amen.
