Are you kiding me?!?

Oh my gosh, I can not BELIEVE this is happening to me!

Have you ever had a day like this? Or even a moment in the day? When it seems like something or everything is against you, when you approach an extremely frustrating situation with all the love in Christ you can find? Such as those/that moment(s) when you find yourself at the crossroad of loosing your emotions on the nearest person/thing; or giving your emotions up to God and ask with everything in you to calm the situation and please speak through you.

That crossroad is a defining moment of your Christian walk. It shows how strong your faith and trust truly is. It allows you to delete your emotions from an equation and magnify Christ’s love. It’s in those moments that unbelievers look at us most. It’s those moments we cling to as Christ followers.

“God PLEASE take control, calm my emotions and speak THROUGH me.” That’s usually my “go-to” when I feel my inner anger shaking up inside. I’ve totally lost it before, I’ve been so caught up in the moment that I’ve forgotten WHO I am and WHO lives IN me. So please don’t think I’m little miss perfect who has it all figured out. Truth is, I’ve lost it so many times I can now share with you how I choose to do it instead.

When we take our emotions out of an angered situation, I’ve found it’s so much easier to allow God’s light to shine. Remembering whoever is on the opposing side is human as well and they are allowed to make mistakes. Remembering that Christ’s love should be just what that anger needs to subside. Also remembering, if I do mess up, it’s going to be okay. I simply must approach the situation with a forgiving and understanding heart, add a heart felt apology and try again. Guys, we aren’t perfect but that doesn’t give us an okay to continue doing wrong.

I know tough situations can be highly frustrating but try to allow Christ’s love a moment to conquer.

PRAYER:

When we feel anger stiring, remind us of your love. In moments of frustration surround us with your peace. Allow us to be the true vessel of love others need in order to feel your presence. In Jesus name. -AMEN.
