He taught me something

When I see someone feeding birds, I always revert my memory to scripture.

Matthew 6:26‭-‬27 NIV  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life ?

Ive used this scripture so many times as a way to remind myself not to worry. Something else came to mind today. I had my sliding door blinds open in hopes rain would halt and I could let the little’s run off energy. It was lunch time and my seat has a perfect view of outside (yes on purpose). As we are sitting eating, I see a man with some grocery bags walking toward our neighborhood geese. He struggles opening the bags while the geese look at him patiently. They weren’t afraid of this man, which tells me he’s done this before. He finally gets into the bag and begins throwing out bread. My mind is boggled at this point with so many lessons I could learn from this situation, I will share a few thoughts with you. The scripture above shows the importance of not being worried but it also shows something else. The importance of obeying.  You might be questioning my thoughts right now, but look at it this way and see if you can agree.

It’s stated that our heavenly Father feeds the birds in the sky, so what if God is the one that put the thought of feeding these geese in this man’s mind? What if God wired him to have compassion for animals so that during the winter, these geese would have food? What if this man was simply obeying God?

What things could change if we would do the same? What things could get accomplished for God if we figured out what it was God wired us with and just did it without question? How much positivity is needed in the world around us? I urge you to seek what mission is your forte and start working with what you’ve got. Anything you need will be provided, the same as the bread for these geese.
