Great Job Mom/Dad!!!

So, I honestly feel like I should tell parents how important their rolls are and that your children are part of your ministry! I can’t tell you how many times while I am trying to explain important issues to my children that it actually brings me to a new level in thinking. Let me explain by giving a few examples….

I treated the kids to a special lunch today and as we were waiting on our food, they began to get antsy. One of the littles stated that it was another’s fault as to why she was acting up. I then needed to explain why we don’t “point” our fingers at others when we choose to do wrong. I showed how when we point we actually have more fingers pointed towards ourselves. This made me remember a statement that Jesus said. It’s in Matthew chapter 7; “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” (1‭-‬5)

I explained to them the importance of checking ourselves before placing blame on someone else. They 100% understood everything I was saying. There is a saying that explains that our children at a young age are like sponges, they soak up EVERYTHING, so I make it a mission daily to teach them good, helpful, and sound advice. I know I’m not alone in thinking this way, it’s just with a world surrounded by discouragement I felt like I should encourage you to keep going or even start trying!!

My son then tried to say, but what if we just point all of our fingers at the person we want to blame? Then more fingers are pointing at them instead!! (Guys, I can’t make this stuff up!) So, I had to explain to him, that is called cheating…. then I asked him was it right to cheat? He first laughed it off and said yes but then quickly said “no, it’s not.”

It’s wonderful to look at your children and say, I’m doing this for their future! Don’t allow today’s discouragement to mess with your tomorrow 😉.

Prayer- God, I would like to thank you for all children, thank you for all parents, and thank you for encouragemt through them. Lord, I would like to ask that for each parent/guardian reading this they would receive the encouragement they need when they need it. I would like to also ask for restoration in each ones family and allow your peace and comfort to surround them daily. Thank you for protection and guidance. In Jesus name, amen.
