I had the pleasure of meeting a pretty awesome young lady today. Her bubbly attitude was addicting! She told me a little bit of her story, that’s where I learned she goes to work at 6AM. (When she said that to me I was thinking, I’m just getting to sleep good at 6 AM :D.) She then told me that her boss loves her, because “as you can tell, I love to talk”. Her boss has 2 smaller children at home, and is the owner of this business. She goes on to explain how her boss tells her she is such a blessing to her, because she needs someone with a bubbly attitude every morning; as a “pick-me-up”.
I could tell this young lady was being authentic. Her bubbly attitude was exactly who she was. I honestly don’t think you could even try to fake how happy she was. As we began to talk more, we discussed things like her graduating college and now having to “adult”. We even got into the fact that she was raised on a farm and how much she loved and respected her mom because of how hard she worked for them to be where they are today. I could see a drive in this young lady. I have a feeling she got that drive from her mother. What children see in their parents daily, has a funny way of becoming a part of them.
This young lady, who was being who she was, where she needed to be, and doing the best she knows to do, made a huge impact on me. Her willingness to accept what she didn’t want to accept (bills, other adult things) while [no matter the difficulties] not loosing her bubbly-ness. That was the impact. I’ve gotten so far into my “adult-ness” that I have forgotten to be myself. I let everyday stress affect me in such a way that even depression was able to sneak in. After meeting this young lady, it reminded me, don’t lose your self.
Your situation could look horrible to you, it could actually be horrible. I beg you; don’t lose yourself. Don’t lose your hope, don’t lose your passion, don’t lose your faith.
Prayer:
Our lives on this earth are filled with up’s and down’s. It’s so much easier to be ourselves when everything is up. We want to strive daily to remain ourselves when things get down as well. We don’t want to get angry quickly, we don’t want to give up quickly. We know you’ve made us strong, so in our times of need, remind us just how strong we are. In Jesus name. – Amen.

Thank you for this great reminder!
